What is a Sublimation Photo Printer you ask?
Let’s try and understand the basics of the words themselves first.
Sublimation is as transfer of an element or compound from a solid form into a gas without any liquid transference. Example? Take dry ice & drop several small pieces into regular tap water. It turns the dry ice into a gas.
A Photo printer is usually designed for smaller prints using inkjet and LaserJet technology, which most if not all the major players in the printer manufacturing field are using.
A Photo Printer is exactly that, a simple but fast photo printer (inkjets and LaserJet primarily) that prints fast, which if your like me…you want your prized pics to be able to transfer to anywhere & anytime you choose, whether your on the road. Or at work or home.
The great thing about this newest gadget, is now our digital pics, we can share and print them off in professional quality faster than ever before.
The Sublimation Photo Printer is often referred to a “Thermal Dye Printer” which uses heat to release the dye, the more heat the more dye that is released. The actual print head has thousands of heating elements that can produce levels of heat that can be manipulated to overlay color, which then look flawless/ seamless. The unique thing about this is that the printed image is able to handle immediately without fear of ruining the image by handling, due to special dye receptive paper used. The ribbon usage is the same for every print no matter how much color you choose.
The supplies needed for this dye printer usually cost more than your normal inkjet printer and why wouldn’t they? Every thing that comes out that cool & new, well costs more money than the last greatest thing and you’re getting a professional quality picture within a fraction of the time.
Really, now why buy one or three, you ask? Well, for starters they make excellent gifts! And for seconds, they are the newest & latest of the greatest of the technology out here and now your picture albums, your framed pictures on your wall can and will look like you paid big dollars per shoot.
And first and foremost if your are going to buy or already have bought this new print, please dispose of your old printers properly and recycle them. Don’t just throw them into your trash, they will just find their way into landfills & poison our earth / water / animals. Please be kind to our planet, tis the only one we have.
Thanks for reading & have fun with your photos.
